JOB OPENINGS

Research Assistant

Are you a curious, organized, and motivated research professional who wants to contribute to work that directly impacts patient care? At the Spina Lab at Columbia University, we’re looking for collaborative, thoughtful individuals to join our team in advancing basic and translational immuno-oncology research.

Our team offers a highly collaborative environment at the intersection of clinical care and discovery. Our research explores the immunologic effects of existing and emerging therapies for patients with prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer — with projects spanning human tissue studies, investigator-initiated clinical trials, and cutting-edge molecular and immunologic assays.

We are seeking motivated, creative, and collaborative individuals who are interested in learning new techniques with excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills to join our highly collaborative team. This work will generate a deeper understanding of the immunologic implications of existing and novel therapies for patients with prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer. The results of this research will be communicated by peer-review publications in high-impact journals by our group and offer exciting collaborative opportunities with academic and industry partners.

You’ll help support clinical and laboratory workflows, contribute to tissue processing and sample coordination, assist with IRB and trial-related efforts, and work alongside physicians, scientists, and research partners across academia and industry.

What you can expect at Spina Lab:

  • Research that connects laboratory discovery to patient outcomes

  • A collaborative team of clinicians, scientists, and translational researchers

  • Exposure to advanced techniques in tumor immunology and systems biology

  • Mentorship and opportunities to grow your skills in a dynamic research environment

If you’re excited to learn, work hard, and be part of a team that values initiative, communication, and scientific curiosity — we’d love to hear from you. Please send your application here.
